Artist's Description
Drawing the Harrison Opera House at night was a particular technical challenge: The light comes primarily from within, so I had to create the illusion of a "glow", with light cast outward from the strongly lit main reception room inside the Opera House. Technically, I had to deal with both cast light and cast shadow. I chose to depict this beautiful structure on opening night, with hidden spotlights adding to the gala event.
About Vic Delnore
Having been introduced to landscapes and seascapes by his artist mother, and with influence from his wife with a background in graphic arts, Vic Delnore has developed his own interpretations of landscapes, abstracts, and artistic scenes in graphite, pen and ink, oil, water media, and charcoal. His initial art training was in composition and perspective in The Hague, The Netherlands, followed by instruction in story illustration, pen-and-ink graphics at RPI, figure drawing and calligraphy at MIT/Harvard and ODU, and under nationally known instructors in watercolor and related media.
